Monday…it could be worse…

As I pull a late Monday night at work I’m reminded of a piece of wisdom my sea-hardened brother shared with me this weekend.  He is out on an oil tanker sailing back and forth from the Pacific Northwest to Alaska as part of his shipbuilding education.  He is 21 days into a 2 month assignment.

“Days of the week don’t matter on ship.  Every day is a Monday until you go home, then it’s Friday.”

An unpacking milestone reached

7 January 2008 · 1 Comment

Yesterday afternoon I opened and un-packed the last un-opened boxes at the house.  The only un-packed boxes for me to deal with now are the 8 boxes of books waiting for shelves to be put on.  I am now firmly on the winning side of the battle now.  The office is still in disarray and that is waiting on a desk, then Steve can dig in there.

The last boxes I opened were the boxes of clothes.  After living out of suitcases since September 19th I was surprised to find myself not knowing what to wear this morning.
