Strawberries

A week or so ago we picked up a pound of strawberries at the local Tesco.  They were fabulous.  We have been back to Tesco every second day and are going through a full pound a day.  Got to enjoy them while they are in season!

People at work found it amusing that I had no clue that everyone eats strawberries and cream at Wimbledon.  I guess it is like not knowing that everyone gets popcorn at the movie theatre.

  1. We picked strawberries a couple weeks ago. They were $1.23 per pound pick your own. Our cherry trees are covered. We don’t pick so the birds are loving them.

  3. Eating strawberries & cream at Wimbledon is one of Sandy’s best memories of our summer in London (many years ago now). Too bad I missed it — she went on a weekday while I was working.

  4. What’s that a slice of? It looks like pumpkin pie.

The rest of the picture looks tasty though.

It’s like mint juleps at Churchill Downs on Derby Day.

It is a slice of truly fantastic English shortbread. It does not include pumpkin, but it does include a whole lot of butter.

  7. Oooh, yum! I’ve never heard of strawberries and cream at Wimbledon either, if it makes you feel better. But then, I’m Australian.
